”I’m Not Pregnant, My Tummy Was Stuffed With Puff Puff” – Tiwa Savage

 

There were reports recently that singer Tiwa Savage was pregnant and in her first trimester.
According to report, at the Intercontinental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos,during the widely successful Tyme Out with Tee A, the beautiful artiste (during a question and answer session) responded to an inquiry from ENCOMIUM Weekly about her bulging stomach.
The singer debunked the pregnancy rumour saying it was too much puff puff (a flour-based delicacy fried in oil) that made her stomach appear bigger than normal.
Tiwa who is billed to tie the knots with her manager beau, Tunji Balogun also known as Tee Billz has now put to rest for now the pregnancy tale.
However, those who witnessed her energetic performance at last night’s show agreed that a pregnancy in its early stages would not be subjected to such rigorous movement.

 Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets are battle ready to face Sweden in a semi final tie in what appears to be a rematch of the two teams’ clash at the group stage of the ongoing UAE 2013 U-17 World Cup.
Before the start of the age grade tournament, it would have come as no surprise to learn that Nigeria, a side who have lifted the trophy three times and reached the final on three other occasions, would make the semi-finals. Fewer would have anticipated their opponents would be a team making their U-17 World Cup debut.

There was a fire outbreak at Great Nigeria Insurance House at Balogun Market in Lagos this morning. Eye witnesses said the fire started around 5am from one of the top floors. The cause of the fire outbreak is unknown but people suspect that it may be as a result of electrical fault. The building accommodates various businesses, including banks.
On the ground were National Commission for Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI), National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), LASEMA, and the Lagos State Fire Service as well as Federal Fire Service to quench the fire, and evacuate affected persons. More pics after the cut

Our expectations on meeting with Jonathan tomorrow – ASUU

The striking Academic Staff Union of Universities has expressed hope that their meeting with President Goodluck Jonathan tomorrow will bring mutually acceptable solution to the four months old strike which has paralysed the nation’s university education.
According to the union, they expect the meeting to be a dialogue that will lead to a mutually acceptable fair and far reaching solution within the context of the implementation of the 2009 agreement, the 2012 MOU and the recommendations of the Needs Assessment Report.The union warned that any proposal by the Government would be based on a clear acceptance of a framework for the implementation of the 2009 agreement, saying that any imposition will not present a solution to the current crisis.

The government is to abandon a controversial plan to impose £3,000 immigration bonds on visitors from “high-risk” countries in Africa and Asia after Nick Clegg threatened to block the policy.

The move will be seen by Labour as a humiliating U-turn for Theresa May, the home secretary. It came after David Cameron backed off from a full-scale confrontation with the Liberal Democrat leader, who was blocking the scheme’s progress through cabinet.

A pilot project to target visitors from seven countries — including India, Pakistan and Nigeria — who would have had to pay a cash guarantee or deposit to deter immigration abuse was to have been introduced this month.

The plan was to make visitors forfeit £3,000 if they failed to return home by the time their visas had expired. But in an announcement this weekend the government said it was canceling the plans
